| Foxy Lady was our old glamour girl around here and she is the "poster-goat" for powerhouse qualities. She is proof positive that the old bloodlines can really earn themselves a spot in the limelight of todays Nubians. Her dam, Keepsake, was a very dairy, upstanding type of doe that needed a bit more body capacity and spring of rib. The old bloodline boost of Special Dude gave Foxy Lady incredible body capacity and spring of rib without sacrificing milk, butterfat or udder attachment. Foxy's scored a 30 on rump width and a 26 on foreudder attachment. She received V ratings in head, front legs, rear legs, back. She received + in feet and udder texture and A in shoulder assembly and rump. One of Foxy Lady's milks tests in 2002 was 12.1# of milk with 6.2% butterfat. This gave her the Elite Doe accolade from USDA, but unfortunately, our milk test wasn't registered with ADGA, so we missed out having it part of her ADGA permanent record. Her son, Flying Tiger, has been retained as a junior herdsire. She also has several outstanding daughters in our herd: Onxy, Topaz and her 2007 doeling (by Pilot) Foxy Lady blessed us with huge lovely twins, one doe and one buck, sired by Warpaint. Currently, both kids will be kept for our breeding program. Foxy Lady passed away peacefully in her sleep in fall of 2008. |
